Power Of Your Words

Hey, did you ever realize the immense power you have? No, I'm not talking about any superhuman abilities! It’s the power of your words. Have you ever thought about it? Why do words matter so much?

God made the entire universe just by speaking! He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And guess what? *We're made in His image. That means, just like Him, our words have power, too. Remember when Jesus spoke and healed people or calmed storms? Words, my friend. “Life and death are in the power of the tongue…” Ever heard that one? Yep, it's from the Bible - Proverbs 18:21. Our words can either lift someone up or tear them down.

So, what's coming out of your mouth these days? Think about it. Have you been speaking positively, with hope and faith, or have you been kind of negative, always seeing the glass half empty? The Bible says, “A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth…” (Prov. 12:14). So if you want to see good stuff happen in your life, you gotta start speaking it!

But where do these words come from? Straight from the heart. Like Jesus said, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Mt. 12:34). So if we're always complaining or speaking negatively, maybe it’s time for a heart check.

Lastly, here's a challenge: Start paying attention to your words. What are you saying when you’re by yourself or with friends? “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.” (Mt. 12:35). Let’s be those who speak life and bring forth good things!
