Grace Triumphs Over Works

Hey there! Do you ever wonder how you can inherit eternal life? The story of the rich young ruler in Luke 18 can shed some light on this. He asked Jesus what he needed to do to gain eternal life, but Jesus showed him that it's not about our works but our faith.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8–9, "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

Trying to earn our salvation through good deeds leads to fear and anxiety. Just as Jesus gave the rich young ruler the law to show him his need for grace, He does the same for us. When we trust in our own efforts, we fall short.

But here's the amazing part: when we accept God's grace, it transforms our hearts. Zacchaeus, for example, encountered pure grace when Jesus came to his house. He responded by giving to the poor and making amends for his wrongs. Grace produces generosity, holiness, and inner transformation.

So, let me ask you: Which gospel should we preach? Justification by works or justification by faith through God's grace? The answer is clear: we can only be justified by faith in Jesus. If you try to earn God's favor, fear and insecurity will follow you. But when you trust in His grace, you'll live with boldness and confidence.

Remember, our justification is "from faith to faith, accomplished from start to finish by faith alone." So, put your faith in the One who supplies grace and experience the joy of living in His love.
