My husband Vishal and I had been married for eight years. For all eight of those years, we prayed for a child.
We live in a remote village. There is no hospital nearby, which made everything harder. Early in our marriage, I did conceive once, but at six months I lost the baby. We had traveled to the city and were admitted to a hospital, but it was too late. That loss broke something in me. For the next eight years, I could not conceive again. I had quietly stopped believing it would ever happen.
Then, on 25 October 2023, Pastor Premasis and Deepakshi came to our village to preach at our church. I was sitting in the front row that morning, worshipping the Lord, not expecting anything particular. But something in the sermon stopped me.
Pastor Premasis was speaking about Mary, and how she conceived by the Holy Spirit. He shared about the goodness of God and what it means to hold on to faith when nothing around you confirms it. One sentence, in particular, stayed with me. He said that conception happens on the day you believe the promise of the Word, but that the manifestation takes time.
I had never heard the gospel explained that way before. Something shifted in me that morning. I declared the Word over my life and chose to rest in the finished work of the cross.
Exactly three months later, I was pregnant.
Vishal and I were overjoyed. I immediately called Pastor Premasis to share the good news, and we gave thanks to God together over the phone. That moment still makes me emotional when I think about it.
Today, Vishal and I have two sons. They are healthy, active, and full of life.
Thank you, Proclaim Salvation Today Ministries, for making the effort to come to our village. The journey cannot have been easy. But that one sermon changed our lives.
