Self-imposes Crises

Have you ever said something negative about yourself? Did you know that every word we speak can bring either life or death? According to Proverbs 18:21, the words we speak have consequences, and if we are not careful, we can bring negative outcomes into our lives.

In Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus reminds us that we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak. This is why we must guard our tongues and speak life-giving words to ourselves. Negative talk creates an opening for the devil to work in our lives, but positive words build us up and bring us closer to God.

Psalm 118:17 says, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD." This verse reminds us that we can speak life over ourselves and our situations. If you have spoken negative words about yourself, the good news is that you can revoke them.

We can take three steps to revoke a negative confession: repent, revoke, and replace. First, we must recognize that we have made a negative confession and repent of it. Then, we must cancel or unsay the negative confession by revoking it. Finally, we must replace the negative confession with the right one.

So, let's be mindful of our words and use them to build ourselves and others up. Speak life over your situation and declare the works of the Lord. Remember, you have the power to bring positive change into your life with the words you speak.
