Little Acts, Big Rewards
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward."
— Matthew 10:42 (ESV)
Ever wonder if the little things you do really matter? Jesus assures us they do. Imagine offering a simple cup of cold water. Seems insignificant, right? Yet, Jesus says even this tiny act of kindness won't go unnoticed or unrewarded (Matthew 10:42).
Think about your daily life. Do you hold doors open for strangers? Do you smile at a neighbor? Do you lend an ear to a friend in need? These acts, small as they seem, hold immense value in God's eyes. Why? Because it's not the size of the act but the heart behind it that counts. As 1 Corinthians 3:13 reminds us, every deed will be tested to see its true nature.
Have you ever felt unnoticed or unappreciated? Remember, some rewards are immediate, like the joy of seeing someone smile. Others, though, we might not see until we stand before God. Consider the trials you endure for your faith. Sometimes, the rewards for these challenges are stored up in heaven, waiting for you.
Why do we sometimes feel like our good deeds go unnoticed? The truth is, God sees everything. Rewards are for those cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, those who live righteously (1 Corinthians 4:7). Even the 24 elders in Revelation cast their crowns before the Lord, acknowledging that all they have is from Him.
So, the next time you wonder if your little acts of kindness matter, remember they do. God sees, God knows, and He rewards—even the smallest gesture. Let us Thank Him today for His goodness.
