Planting Seeds With The Expectation
So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how. For the earth brings forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
— Mark 4:26-28
Have you come across the seed principle? It's often misunderstood as promoting greed or irrelevant to God's grace. But in reality, it's about giving our time, love, and resources to God and expecting blessings in return. This isn't a fancy notion; it's deeply rooted in the Bible.
Consider the children of Israel at the first Passover or the widow who fed Elijah. Also remember the boy who gave his lunch to Jesus and Peter lending his boat to Jesus. Weren't they rewarded with blessings for their obedience and generosity?
The Gospel fundamentally promotes growth or increase. When you offer your heart to Jesus, pray for healing, or place trust in God's promises, you should anticipate their fulfillment.
Remember Jesus' words, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over..." (Luke 6:38)? He didn't exclude money. After all, money is a reflection of our time, skills, and values. Depending on how we use it, it can either be a blessing or a source of trouble.
When I give, I look forward to blessings. Each act of giving is a seed that brings forth a harvest in my life, showcasing how God's Kingdom expands in our hearts. Our future is shaped by the seeds we hold today. So let's sow them in faith, bless others, and watch as God's blessings flourish in our lives!
