Strength In Weakness

Have you ever felt like you’re struggling against something you can’t shake? Paul had that experience too. He called it a "thorn in the flesh." So, what was Paul talking about? Was it an illness? No, it wasn’t a physical sickness. Paul’s “thorn” was a constant irritation, a challenge that kept him humble and reliant on God. In 2 Corinthians 12:7, he explains it as a "messenger of Satan" sent to torment him.

Why would God allow such a thing? Paul asked the same question. He pleaded with God three times to remove it. How often do we do the same? We pray for relief, for God to take away our troubles. So, did God ignore Paul’s prayers? Absolutely not. God responded, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Isn’t that powerful? God’s grace is enough, even when we feel weak and overwhelmed.

How does this apply to us today? Think about your own life. What challenges are you facing that seems impossible? Remember, it's in those moments of weakness that God’s power shines the brightest. Paul took this to heart. He learned to boast about his weaknesses because he knew that’s when Christ’s power rested on him. When we are weak, then we are strong through Him (2 Corinthians 12:10).

So, next time you’re facing a tough situation, ask yourself, “Am I relying on my own strength or God’s?” The answer lies in trusting that His grace is enough. Just as Paul found strength in his struggles, we too can experience God’s perfect power in our weaknesses.
