Trusting In God's Provision
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
— Romans 8:32
Do you ever feel like you don't have enough? Maybe you need more money, more time, or more resources to fulfill your desires and responsibilities. It's easy to get trapped in a mentality of lack, always focusing on what you don't have rather than what you do. But as a child of God, you have access to the abundance of His wisdom, favor, ability, strength, and creativity.
Romans 8:16-17 says, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." This means that everything that belongs to God is also available to us as His children.
Ephesians 1:3 tells us that God "has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." And 2 Peter 1:3 says that "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."
So what should we do when we feel like we're lacking? Instead of dwelling on the problem, we can choose to fix our eyes on a BIG God who is able to provide abundantly for us. Matthew 7:11 says, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
Let's choose to trust in God's abundance and ask Him for what we need. He is a loving Father who delights in giving good gifts to His children. He is not El Cheapo, and He is El Shaddai. As we focus on His generosity and provision, we will experience freedom from the mentality of lack and walk in the abundance He has for us.
PRAYER
Father, thank You for being my abundant provider. I trust that You supply all my needs through Christ, and I choose to live from the fullness of Your provision, not from lack.
Amen
