Seeing As God Sees You

Hey there, ever thought about how you see yourself? How about how you envision God? Believe it or not, the answers to these questions guide your life. Yeah, it sounds like a big deal, doesn't it?

1 John 3:2 says, "Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." It's fascinating, right? This verse implies that we become like what we believe or think about. Our images of God and ourselves steer the course of our lives.

Do you remember the Israelites from Numbers 13:33? They said, "There we saw the giants . . . and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight . . ." Their self-perception shaped their destiny. They doubted God's promises and saw themselves as inferior, and it blocked them from God's purpose and provision.

Thinking about this, let's revisit Proverbs 23:7, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." How powerful is that? If you see yourself as a victim, weak, or unworthy, your life will fit that mold. Likewise, if you see God as distant or displeased with you, it'll feel like He's more the source of your struggles than your victories.

It's a sad truth, but many followers of Christ live with this distorted inner image. They've allowed their hearts to be convinced by a victim mindset, and it's steering their lives.

Are you open to letting God change how you see yourself? Can you align your vision with what He sees for you? Can you choose to view the Father as Jesus showed Him to us? Only by doing this can you fully live the abundant life He offers. So today, be brave and try to see yourself as God sees you, and let that guide your way. Remember, being God's child means you are much more than what you see when you look at yourself in the mirror.
