Feasting In The Face Of Fear
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
— 2 Timothy 1:7
Ever felt like you're surrounded by darkness, with uncertainty all around? Yeah, we've all been there. The looming shadows of doubt, fear, or challenges - they can get pretty intimidating. But here's a question for you: what if I told you that you've got the ultimate companion with you, even in the midst of that valley? The Bible says in Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." So, what does that mean for us?
Have you ever noticed how sometimes you're not alone, even when it feels like you are? Have you ever felt that even when surrounded by problems, there's a strange sense of peace? Why is that? Let's go back to the word. _Psalm 23:5 says, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over."_ *Right there, in the midst of challenges, God's got a feast ready for you!* 🎂 Now, Paul reminds us about the Lord's table in 1 Cor. 10:21. It means even when life's tough, God's saying, "Hey, come here. Take a seat. Let's eat."
Now, if you're like me, you might wonder, *"Why now? Shouldn't we celebrate after the problems are gone?" But here's the game-changer: God's saying, "Rest now. Trust me now. Even before the victory." Can you imagine that? He's promising to fight your battles. As you sit at His table, imagine the strength filling you up. Imagine those worries melting away.
And you know what's chasing after you while you're feeling all this? Not fear, not doubt. Psalm 23:6 assures us that "goodness and mercy" are on our tail. The word "follow" in that verse? It means God's love is relentlessly pursuing us. Whether you're in a hospital room, a tough spot at school, or feeling lonely in a crowd, remember this: He's right there. So, why fear? When darkness surrounds, His light shines brightest. Be bold, be brave, and feast in faith.
PRAYER
