Discovering Your Purpose
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
— Jeremiah 29:11
Have you ever thought, "What's my purpose in life?" Let me tell ya, it's a question we all wrestle with, especially during our teen years. But what if I told you that instead of thinking about a specific "plan", we focus on our "purpose"? Yeah, they might sound similar, but there's a difference!
So, what's the difference, you ask? Think about it this way. Having a plan can feel like we're just reading a script God wrote for us. And man, messing up that script? Talk about guilt. Have you ever felt like you messed up God's Plan A, and now you're stuck with a Plan B? Or maybe even a Plan C? But what if God isn't about this A, B, or C kind of thinking? Instead, think of purpose as this fire God puts inside you. Sure, it might dim when we stray or mess up, but it never goes out. Remember Acts 26:16, where it says, "I have appeared unto thee for this purpose." Our purpose remains even if our plans change.
Now, let's keep it real. God cares more about who we are than where we are. Ever met someone who, no matter where they're at, they're always the same person, shining bright? That's because their purpose is driving them. They're rooted in who they are in Christ. And that, my friend, will shine through regardless of the situation or place.
So what's the big takeaway? Let's not get hung up on perfect plans or perfect places. Instead, let's understand and embrace our God-given purpose. Embrace who God made you to be. Grow in it, shine through it, and always remember – God's got you, and He's shaping you for greatness! Don't forget the big picture: you're here for a purpose, and that purpose will always guide you.
