God Is Not Behind Your Pain

Real talk, a lot of us carry a quiet belief that God is the one behind our pain. That He sends the sickness to teach us something, or holds back the good stuff until we get serious enough. That belief will wreck your faith faster than almost anything else.

Ephesians 2:4-5 says, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ." Read that again. Rich in mercy. Great love. He moved toward us while we were still dead in sin, and that is not the description of a God who hurts His own kids.

Jesus drew the line Himself in John 10:10. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Two sources, two results. When you mix them up, you end up praying against the very God who is trying to help you.

Romans 8:32 says, "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" If He already handed over the most expensive thing He had, He is not sitting on the rest.

Hardship is real. It exists because sin broke the world, not because your Father is running a lesson plan through your suffering. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." He is already the refuge and already present, and the Spirit He put inside you is the one who makes that real when the day gets heavy. You are not talking yourself into peace, you are leaning on Someone who is already there.

He is on your side. Not partly, not depending on how your week went. That is the whole vibe shift when you actually see who He is.
