Your Failures Do Not Cancel God's Plan

A lot of people carry this quiet feeling that they have already messed up too much for God to use them. Too many bad decisions. Too many wasted years. That season where they walked away from God entirely. If any of that sounds familiar, what God said in Jeremiah 29:11 was spoken specifically to people who were already in that place.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God said that to Israel while they were in exile, a consequence of their own choices. His plans were not cancelled by their mess. They are not cancelled by yours either.

Look at David. The youngest in his family, someone nobody thought to call when Samuel came looking. Yet when he faced Goliath he said in 1 Samuel 17:45, "Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts." His confidence was not in himself. It was in who was with him.

And Peter denied Jesus three times on the worst night of his life. But in John 21:15-17, Jesus did not bring it up to condemn him. He asked Peter three times if he loved Him and three times gave him greater responsibility. Your relationship with God defines you, not your worst moment.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Not through trying harder. Through Christ. The greatness God placed in you was never based on your track record. It was always based on His. Walk into today knowing that.
