Be The Light To Share God's Love
Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
— Mark 4:21
Hey there, friend! Have you ever thought about why you hide a candle under a bed or a basket? Sounds silly. Of course, we want to share its light with the whole room! Well, Jesus made this point in Mark 4:21.
Now, what's Jesus trying to teach us here? Simply put, just like we don't hide a light under a basket, we, as Christians, should not hide the love God has filled us with. Instead, we're called to shine brightly, sharing His love with everyone around us. In doing so, we bear fruit, making a difference in this world (John 15:16).
You might be wondering, how did early Christians manage to spread the Gospel without modern technologies like social media or smartphones? The secret was a deeply intimate, life-changing experience of Christ's love. This profound love made them glow with the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19) *and shine so brightly that the world couldn't help but notice* (John 13:35).
In today's fast-paced world, we often focus on techniques or strategies for sharing the Gospel. Have you ever felt guilty or pressured to evangelize? I'm sure we all have. But the early Christians didn't convince others through guilt or debate; they simply shared the irresistible love of Christ.
So, before we knock on doors or make posts online, let's take a moment to dwell in Christ's love. As Paul said, the love of Christ truly inspires and drives us. When we are filled with His love, our actions, words, and even our silent presence can powerfully impact the world around us.
The world is hungry, my friend. Not for bread, but for real love - God's love. Let's make it our mission to know His love deeply and to let it shine through us. We can't give what we don't have, right? So let's let Him love us and let that love overflow to those around us. Now, that's a divine beacon. Light up, friend!
PRAYER
Lord, fill me with Your love so deeply that I can’t help but shine. Let my life reflect Your light and draw others to know You. Make me a living witness of Your unfailing love.
Amen
