God's Promise Of Abundant Life
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
— Genesis 1:31
Hey there! Have you ever wondered why there's so much sickness and suffering in the world? Let's dig into it together.
In Genesis 1:31, we see God's creation was not just good; it was perfect! He never intended for sickness or suffering to be a part of His plan. Did you notice that when God spoke the world into existence, there was no mention of sickness or disease? That's right! God didn't create them. So, where did they come from?
The answer lies in Adam and Eve's choice to sin in the Garden of Eden. That's when things went south. They handed over control of the earth to the devil, who became the temporary ruler of this world (2 Cor. 4:4). It's like Adam rented the earth to the worst tenant ever! And with him, the devil brought all sorts of troubles: sickness, disease, depression, and death.
Now, here's the critical question: Does sickness come from God? Absolutely not! He doesn't have sickness to give. In fact, it's the devil who comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and he often uses sickness as a tool (John 10:10). All God wants to give you is life, and He did just that through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.
So, Remember this: Sickness is not God's doing. It's the enemy's work. Trust in God's goodness and His gift of life through Jesus. He wants you to live abundantly, free from the chains of sickness and suffering. Isn't that good news?
