Abide To Thrive
Abide in Me, and I in you...for without Me you can do nothing.
— John 15:4-5
Have you ever felt like you’re just barely getting by, trying to hold it all together? You’re not alone in that. The truth is, we weren’t designed to struggle alone or to force our way through life. Just like a branch only grows fruit if it’s connected to the tree, we grow when we’re connected to Jesus. So, how can you actually “abide” in Jesus? What does that even look like in daily life?
Jesus tells us, “I am the vine, you are the branches.” Imagine it: a branch doesn’t stress about growing fruit; it just draws strength from the tree. As we spend time with God—whether it’s reading His Word, praying, or just being aware of His presence—we’re like that branch. In John 15:5, Jesus assures us, “If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” Fruit here isn’t just accomplishments; it’s peace, joy, and freedom from what weighs you down.
And what happens to those old “dead leaves” in your life—the guilt, fear, or any habit that holds you back? As you soak in God’s love and grace, those things start falling away naturally. Instead of striving to “fix” yourself, you begin to change from the inside out, letting Jesus do the heavy lifting. Psalm 1:3 puts it beautifully: “They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in season.”
So today, let Jesus lead. Rest in Him, and watch as His life flows through you, transforming you, and helping you grow. You’re not meant to do this on your own—stay connected and let the fruit of His Spirit grow in you.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to remain rooted in You daily. Let Your life flow through me so I may bear fruit that glorifies You.
Amen
