Creating An Overcoming Future
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
— Proverbs 4:23
We often find yourself pondering about the future. What lies ahead for your family, your job, your living situation, and your health? It's natural to desire a happy and prosperous future. But here's the question: Is there anything we can do about it?
In Luke 6:45, Jesus said, _"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth what is evil." In every heart, *there exists a treasure—a collection of thoughts, emotions, and desires. This treasure can be either good or evil. Proverbs 4:23 emphasizes the importance of guarding our hearts because everything that shapes our lives flows from it.
Consider this: "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). Your future resides in your heart.* It comprises thoughts, words, and actions that have yet to be expressed. Your heart can either be a warehouse for past hurts, anger, offenses, failures, and negative memories, or it can become a factory of faith for the future.
You have the power to shape your future. You hold the authority over your thoughts, words, and actions. How you respond to the circumstances in this fallen world is up to you. Fill the treasure of your heart with the seed of God's Word.
With God's guidance and the power of His Word, you can shape an overcoming future. So, what will you choose today? Will you fill your heart's treasure with negativity and past burdens, or will you allow God's promises to shape your thoughts, words, and actions, creating a future filled with joy, peace, and success?
PRAYER
