Ignite The Power Within

Hey there! Ever felt that tug-of-war inside you? That feeling where your spirit wants to do the right thing, but your body and mind want to do something else? That's what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 26:41. He said, "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." So, what does that mean?

When we accept Jesus into our lives, our spirit becomes brand new, just like His (1 John 4:17). It's always ready and willing to do God's will. But our bodies and minds, that's our flesh, can be a little stubborn sometimes. They don't always want to do what God wants.

Think of it this way: God has given us all this incredible power and glory, but it's like having treasure locked in a clay jar (2 Corinthians 4:7). That clay jar is our flesh. But hey, the good news is we can unlock that jar. We can tap into that divine power. But how?

Well, just like you exercise your body to build muscle, you also need to exercise your soul to grow in godliness. This involves renewing your mind with God's Word and taking action based on it (1 Timothy 4:7-8). And remember how Jesus told His disciples to watch and pray? That's because prayer is a workout for your soul. It's the key that unlocks the treasure inside you.

So, next time you feel that tug-of-war inside, remember, your spirit has the power. Train your mind and body to follow its lead. Read God's Word, take action, and most importantly, pray. Keep that communication with God strong. Because when you watch and pray, you're not just building muscle, you're unlocking divine power. Now, isn't that something worth exercising for?
