Look Up And Live!
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
— Numbers 21:9
Hey, remember that time when the Israelites kept complaining, and God sent those fiery snakes? Crazy, right? Moses prayed (as he always does), and God said, "Hold up a bronze serpent and anyone who looks at it will live." But here's the catch - they couldn't just glance at it briefly. They had to REALLY look at it. Imagine being surrounded by actual dangerous snakes, and someone tells you, "Hey, look at that statue and you'll be fine." Would you do it?
You see, those Israelites couldn't just give the bronze serpent a passing glance. Why? Because a casual look wouldn't save them. They had to really focus let it take over their vision. Sounds challenging, right? But here's the thing: that brass snake was their Lifeline! Similarly, in our chaotic lives, how often do we get bitten by the 'snakes' of negativity, fear, or pain? What's our Lifeline?
Jesus. That's right, Jesus is our Lifeline. As that bronze serpent was to the Israelites, think about it: Got a problem at school or business? Gaze upon Jesus. Feeling down or stressed? Lift your eyes to Him. And don't just glance; really focus on Him. No half-measures here. Dive deep into His word and promises. After all, when life throws its 'snakes' at us, why focus on the bite when we can focus on the cure? So, the challenge for today: Eyes off the problems, eyes on Jesus. Can you do that? Let's try together.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to take my eyes off my problems and fix them fully on You. You are my cure, my peace, and my life.
Amen
