True Works Of Faith

Have you ever wondered, “What do I need to do to please God?” It’s a question that’s been asked throughout history. Deep down, we all have this innate sense of God’s reality and a desire to be right with Him. But how do we achieve that? In John 6:28, the Jews were asking Jesus the same thing, hoping to find out what actions would earn them favor with God.

So, what did Jesus say? He didn’t list a bunch of tasks or rituals. Instead, He pointed to Himself. Are you willing to simply trust in Jesus and accept His gift of salvation? This is where many people struggle. We’re often ready to do something for God but hesitant to rely entirely on what Jesus has already done for us.

This is what sets Christianity apart from other religions. Most religions involve doing good deeds, making sacrifices, or performing rituals to gain God’s favor. Christianity, however, acknowledges that we can never do enough on our own to earn salvation. Instead, it calls for total faith in Jesus’ sacrifice. No one deserves salvation, and it can’t be earned by what the Bible calls’ dead works’ (Hebrews 6:1; 9:14).

So, what should we do? Believe in Jesus. Have faith in what He has done. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). Salvation is a free gift, and all He asks is for us to believe. Are you ready to take that step of faith today?
