Supernaturally Natural Protection
For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
— Psalm 91:11–12
Do you have some kind of invisible shield around you? Maybe you've been in situations where you knew something was watching for you. You're right. You're not alone. God promises to keep us safe. But what does that mean? Does it mean we can do anything and expect God to save us?
Imagine reading Psalm 91:11–12 and thinking, "Cool! I can do anything, and angels will catch me!" Well, not quite. It's saying that God has our backs as we live our everyday lives. Think about your daily path. How many times could things have gone wrong, but they didn't? Have you ever suddenly stopped, changed direction, or had a hunch and avoided danger? Can you think of a time like that? Who might have whispered that hint or given you that feeling? It might just be God's angels!
Here's where wisdom comes into play: It doesn't mean we look for danger to test if these angels are on their job. Remember Mark 16:18 about not getting hurt if you drink poison? It doesn't mean you should try it on purpose. But if something terrible happens by accident, God's protection is there.
Every day, we're surrounded by little miracles of protection. It's not always flashy. Most times, it's so subtle you might miss it. But God's safety is always there. Next time you feel that little nudge or hear that small voice, remember: it's God's way of saying, "I've got you." So, are you ready to trust that He's got your back?
PRAYER
