You Are Chosen Before The Creation
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
— John 17:24
Have you ever wondered why God created the world and us, despite knowing the heartache and sacrifice it would cost? The answer lies in His perfect judgment and His immeasurable love for us. Even before the foundation of the world, God had a plan of salvation in place. He knew the prize of eternal fellowship with us was worth the cost.
Incredibly, we were chosen in Christ before the world began. Our selection was not based on our own merit but solely on our acceptance of Christ. God's foreknowledge allowed Him to choose us in advance through our connection with Jesus. In a deep sense, we were not personally chosen, but Christ was chosen, and all who are "in Christ" partake in His chosen status by His Father.
Just as we are beneficiaries of the covenant between God the Father and His Son, Jesus, we are chosen because we have chosen God's chosen, which is Christ. Our acceptance by the Father through Christ assures us that He will never reject us. We are accepted just as Jesus is, and nothing can separate us from His love. (Romans 8:38)
In the eyes of men, we may carry blame and imperfections. However, the Lord sees beyond our outward appearance. He looks at our born-again spirit, which has been regenerated in Christ, and He sees us as holy and without blame. It's as if we are viewed through a coloured lens—when God looks at us through Christ, everything in our lives becomes covered by the redeeming blood of Jesus. We stand before Him as holy and blameless because of His great love expressed through His Son.
You are chosen by God, accepted through Christ, and seen as holy and blameless. Embrace the love that covers you, and let it transform your life. Remember that God's plan for you was set in motion before the world began. You have a purpose and a destiny in Him.
