The Blessing In What You Have

Hey there! Ever feel like you need more than what you have to offer? You may feel like your talents, time, or possessions aren't that significant, especially when you compare yourself with others. But guess what? God often works miracles with what we already have, no matter how small it might seem to us.

Remember the story from John 6:9? A young boy offered his simple lunch, five barley loaves and two small fishes, to Jesus. But how could such a small meal feed a crowd of five thousand? Well, this is where God comes in.

Did you notice that Jesus didn't make bread out of thin air or transform stones into food, although He certainly could have? No, He chose to bless what was already there. Even though the resources seemed insufficient, when Jesus blessed them, they were more than enough. And this wasn't the only time He did something like this! Can you think of any other examples?

A few days later, Jesus and his disciples were among another large crowd. Again, He asked his disciples what they could do to feed them. But instead of recalling the miracle of the loaves and fishes, the disciples focused on their limited resources. It seemed like they'd forgotten the miracle they'd just seen! Have you ever found yourself forgetting the times God showed up in your life when faced with a new challenge?

Like the disciples, we often look to our resources or abilities first and turn to God's supernatural power only at the end of our rope. But God doesn't want us to live like this. He wants us to step out in faith like that young boy did with his humble lunch.

When we offer what we have to God, He can bless and multiply it. So, next time you're facing a challenge, remember this: seek God's guidance, offer what you have, and watch how He can multiply it. It's not about what you don't have but how God can bless what you already do.
