The Gift Of Righteousness In Christ

Have you ever wondered how you can stand before a holy God? It's not about following a set of rules or trying to be good enough on your own. Our righteousness, our right standing with God, is found in Christ. In the parable of the wedding feast, Jesus tells us about a man who didn't wear the wedding garment provided by the host. (Matt. 22:1-14) This was a grave insult. Similarly, when we reject the righteousness of Christ, we reject the very thing that makes us acceptable to God.

But what is this wedding garment? It represents the righteousness of Christ, freely given to us when we accept God's invitation into His kingdom. It doesn't matter if we consider ourselves good or bad; we all need this garment of righteousness. The truth is, we can never attain righteousness on our own. We need the righteousness that comes from God.

So, how do we obtain this righteousness? It's not through our own efforts or acts of holiness but through faith in Jesus Christ. When we put our trust in Him, His righteousness becomes ours. We receive the very righteousness of God as a gift. This righteousness is far superior to any righteousness we could ever achieve on our own.

In Philippians 3:9, the apostle Paul emphasizes this truth. He says that he doesn't rely on his own righteousness, which comes from trying to keep the law. Instead, he seeks the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness that is of God. This is the righteousness that truly matters.

So, my friend, let me ask you this: Are you relying on your own righteousness or on the righteousness of Christ? Remember, it's not about what we can do; it's about what Christ has already done for us. Trust in Him, and receive the gift of righteousness that comes from God. Embrace His righteousness, and let it transform your life.
