The Power Of Giving And Receiving

Have you ever noticed how the principle of giving and receiving is a universal truth? Jesus highlights this in Luke 6:38, revealing a fundamental law of God that operates in both the spiritual and physical realms. Just like planting seeds in the ground results in a bountiful harvest, everything we give—be it money, love, prayers, or time—returns to us in abundance.

Why is this principle so powerful? It's because we reap exactly what we sow and in proportion to the measure we give. Galatians 6:7-8 reinforces this, stating that whatever we sow, we will also reap. Paul echoes this in 2 Corinthians 9:6, emphasizing that those who sow sparingly will reap sparingly, and those who sow generously will reap generously.

But what about the negative things we've sown? God's law of forgiveness offers hope. Just as the laws of thrust and lift overcome gravity, forgiveness can nullify the negative things we've given. 1 John 1:9 assures us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse us. On the other hand, the good things we've done won't matter if we stop doing good (Galatians 6:9).

How does God provide for us? God is our ultimate source, but He often uses people to meet our needs. When we pray for finances, God doesn't drop money from the sky. Instead, He moves through people—employers, customers, and friends. It may not be instant, but we must trust that God hears and answers our prayers. Pray not only for your needs but also for the people God will use to bless you.
