Overflowing Faith Through Gratitude
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
— Col. 2:7
Ever wonder how to pump up your faith? How do you get to that point where you feel invincible, and everything seems possible? The answer is right in today's key verse: Thanksgiving.
So, what’s the deal with Thanksgiving? Why does it make our faith overflow? Think about it. When did you last say "thank you" for something bad? Probably never, right? When we're thankful, we focus on the good stuff, pushing away the negatives. But here’s a question: why’s it so important to shift our focus?
The devil likes to mess with our heads, throw negative vibes, and make us panic. But here's the thing: if we're always focused on what's wrong, where’s the room for faith. It’s like trying to pour fresh juice into a cup that's already filled with mud. So, when we thank God, we’re kind like cleaning out that cup, making space for some of that refreshing faith juice to fill us up!
Now, how do you thank God, especially when things aren't going so great? Remember, Thanksgiving isn’t about wishing for what you don’t have. It's all about appreciating what you have. Even in the stormy days, in faith, we see our needs as already met. Why? Because, guess what, they are! Jesus already sorted it all out for us.
Today, challenge yourself. Regardless of what’s happening, choose to be thankful. And watch, just watch, as your heart dives deep into this amazing space where every single thing you need has already been taken care of in Christ. Overflowing faith? Yep, you got it right there through gratitude!
