Discovering Your Place Called "there"
Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are.
— James 5:17
Have you ever felt discouraged or overwhelmed, thinking that you're not good enough to be used by God? Take heart because even great men of faith like Elijah faced similar struggles. Despite his imperfections, God mightily used him, performing miracles and bringing revival. We can learn valuable lessons from Elijah's life.
Elijah's influence didn't come from his background or education; it came from a revelation from God. Likewise, as believers, we have a revelation from God through being born again or having a relationship with Him. This revelation empowers us to influence others. Are we boldly speaking the truth God has shown us? Remember, Elijah spoke with faith and courage before seeing the proof of God's promises.
Elijah's obedience to God's word positioned him to experience supernatural provision. God revealed His plan to Elijah step by step. It wasn't until Elijah acted on the first step that God showed him the next. Similarly, we must obey what God has revealed to us and trust Him for the next step. Let's learn to trust His perfect timing.
First Kings 17:2-4 says, “And the word of the LORD came unto him, ... I have commanded the ravens to feed thee THERE.”
Elijah's provision was waiting for him at a place called "There." God didn't send the provision to where Elijah was, but to where He was sending him. Similarly, God has blessings and provision for each of us in our specific places of obedience. Are we fully in our place of "There," or are we missing out on God's provision due to disobedience?
Today, let's embrace our place called "There," boldly speak God's truth, and trust Him for provision and guidance. Don't be discouraged by past failures. God's love and mercy are greater than our shortcomings. Are you ready to step into your place called "There" and experience the fullness of God's blessings?
