God Kept Talking Even After Adam Hid
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
— Jeremiah 33:3
Real talk, there is a pull you cannot fully explain. A sense that your life is supposed to mean more than getting through the week, and no amount of scrolling touches it.
That pull is not in your head, it is in your spirit. Matthew 4:4 says, "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." You were not built to just eat and work and sleep. You were built to hear from God.
The usual objection is that you have messed up too badly for God to still be talking. Look at Adam. Genesis 3:8-10 says they "heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day," and God called out, "Where art thou?" Adam had just blown it in the worst way available to him, and God was still the one who spoke first.
That is the pattern all the way through. God does not go quiet when you fail. Adam hid. God did not.
Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Notice He never says prove yourself first. The Holy Spirit already lives in you, so none of this is long distance. When you are lying awake at 1am running the same worry, say it out loud to Him instead of to the ceiling. When you are stuck on the bus with nothing to do, ask Him about the decision you have been avoiding and then leave enough quiet to actually hear something back.
He is not waiting to be convinced to speak. He has been talking the whole time. Most of us just have the volume of everything else turned all the way up.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You have never stopped speaking to me, even on the days I hid. I am Your child and I have access to You right now because of Jesus. Holy Spirit, You live in me, so make me aware of Your voice while I am working and moving today. Tell me something about my life that I have not been able to see on my own. I am listening in faith. Amen
