Stranded At Midnight, Not Abandoned

Real talk, there is a specific kind of panic that hits when you are far from home and the last train has already gone. Your phone battery is low. Nobody around you speaks your language.

I felt it once in Dubai. I was there for a mission conference, out late with friends, and we realised the last metro had gone while our hotel sat far across the city. First time in a new country, no idea which direction to even start walking.

A stranger walked up and offered to help. He explained the route, then walked half the way with us to make sure we did not get it wrong. He owed us nothing. That is usually what God's help looks like, ordinary and human and right on time.

Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." That verse is not only about you carrying somebody. It is also permission to be carried. God built His family so help moves in both directions.

Panic tells you that you are on your own, and God already answered that. Hebrews 13:5 says, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." You do not have to manufacture calm by gritting your teeth. The Holy Spirit inside you is the one who steadies you, and often the one who nudges the person who shows up with the answer.

So when the plan falls apart at midnight, you are not abandoned. You are being helped, sometimes by someone you have never met and will never see again.
