Wisdom Comes From Knowing Jesus Better
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him...
— Ephesians 1:17-19
Some decisions do not come with a clear right answer. You turn it over for days and still cannot see which way to go.
Paul prayed something specific for people who were already believers. Ephesians 1:17 says, "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him." Look at where the wisdom is pointed. In the knowledge of Him.
That is worth sitting with. The wisdom is not a separate download about your career or your relationship. It comes attached to knowing Jesus better. Get closer to Him and you start seeing your situation differently, almost without noticing it happen.
Notice also who Paul was praying for. People who already had the Holy Spirit. He was not asking God to give them something they lacked. He was asking that what was already in them would open up and start working.
So when you are stuck, the move is not to strain harder for an answer. It is to go back to Him. Read what He is actually like, talk to Him about the thing honestly, and let the Holy Spirit do what He is already there to do. Clarity usually arrives while you are looking at Jesus, not while you are staring at the problem.
You are not out here navigating on your own. The wisdom you need is a Person, and He already moved in.
