The Roots Went First Before Anyone Saw

Jesus said one sentence to a fig tree on the way into Jerusalem. Mark 11:14 says, "No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever." Then He walked on and nothing visible happened.

The disciples heard it. They did not see anything change. As far as their eyes were concerned the tree was exactly as it had been.

It was the next morning before it showed. Mark 11:20 says they "saw the fig tree dried up from the roots." From the roots. It started at the bottom, underground, the moment He spoke, and the leaves were the last part to find out.

Most people give up in that gap. You say what God says over your situation, look around the same evening, decide nothing happened, and go back to describing it the old way.

So when you pray for the friend who is struggling, or speak hope over your own family, the absence of visible change is not evidence of nothing. The power is in what God said, not in how convincing you sounded. Keep saying it, and let the Holy Spirit do the part happening below the surface where you cannot check on it.

The roots go first. By the time you can see it, it has already been happening for a while.
