You Were Never Built To Carry This Alone

Barely holding it together is a normal way to live now. You get through the week on fumes and then start again on Monday.

You were not designed for that. John 15:5 says, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." A branch does not hold itself up. It is carried by what it is attached to.

So what does abiding actually look like on a Tuesday? Mostly unremarkable. Reading a bit of His Word, talking to Him on the way somewhere, staying aware that He is here rather than somewhere you have to travel to.

And the fruit is not a list of achievements. It is peace where you used to be frantic, and the loosening of something that used to have a grip on you.

That is why the guilt and the old habits tend to fall off rather than get defeated. You stop trying to fix yourself into someone acceptable and let His life do the work, because the Holy Spirit is the one growing this. Psalm 1:3 says such a person is "like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season." Planted, near the water, in season. None of that is strain.

You are not meant to do this on your own supply. Stay attached and let Him carry the weight of it.
