She Saw Her Healing Before She Touched
For she said, 'If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.
— Mark 5:28
There is a woman in Mark 5 who had been bleeding for twelve years. Doctors took her money and nothing changed. What she had left was a picture in her head of what would happen if she could just get close enough to Jesus.
Mark 5:28 says, "For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole." She was not looking at the crowd. She was not looking at her own record of disappointment. She was looking at the hem of a garment.
Before I go further, hear this. Being sick is not a faith failure. Twelve years of nothing working did not mean she was doing faith wrong, and a long fight does not mean you are either. Jesus never once told her she should have believed sooner.
2 Corinthians 4:18 says, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." What you can see right now has an expiry date. What God has said does not.
Matthew 12:35 says, "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things." Whatever gets stored inside you eventually comes out. And you are not filling that up by straining. The Holy Spirit takes what God has said and makes it real enough inside you that it becomes what you actually see.
She reached because of something she saw before anyone else could see it. Jesus called that faith, and it is available to you right now.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that Jesus already carried my healing and my future in His finished work. I am Your child and nothing about my situation changes that. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with what God has said instead of what I fear. I see it by faith today. Amen
