Your Feed Is Louder Than Your Peace
For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: 'In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
— Isaiah 30:15
There is a church on every corner and a sermon in every pocket, and hearing God still feels hard. The problem is not that He went quiet. It is that we live inside a carnival that never closes.
News, reels, notifications, group chats. All of it is built to hold your attention, and none of it is evil by itself. But attention is the one thing you cannot spend twice.
John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Read it again. Give, not will give someday. The peace is already handed over.
Isaiah 30:15 shows how we actually take hold of it: "For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength." Strength comes out of quiet, not out of grinding harder.
So this is not a rule about deleting your apps. It is an invitation to give the Holy Spirit a few minutes of unshared attention, because He is the one who makes that peace something you feel and not just something you agree with.
Isaiah 32:17 says, "And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever." You were made righteous the day you trusted Jesus, so peace is the natural fruit of what you already are. Turn the volume down and you will notice it has been there the whole time.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that Jesus already handed me His peace and it does not run out. I am Your righteousness, so rest is my normal and not something I earn. Holy Spirit, teach me to sit with You before I reach for my phone. Give me one unhurried moment with You today. I receive Your rest by faith. Amen
Amen
