Why God Does Not Just Fix Everything Himself
The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
— Psalm 115:16
When something terrible happens, the question underneath it is usually the same one. If God runs everything, why did He let that happen. It is a fair question and it deserves a straight answer instead of a religious one.
Psalm 115:16 says, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men." God gave this planet to people. He did not lease it out with conditions. That is why human choices carry real weight down here.
So who is God controlling right now. Straight up, nobody. He did not stop Adam, and He does not make you drive the speed limit either. Freedom God overrides whenever He feels like it was never freedom.
That does not mean He stepped back and stopped caring. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Every time Jesus healed someone or shut down a storm, He was not overruling God's will. He was showing you what it actually is.
That is why He sent the church out. Matthew 28:19 says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations." And Deuteronomy 30:19 puts the choice plainly: "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life." On a normal day this is smaller than it sounds. It is whether you speak up for the junior getting torn apart in a meeting, or whether you actually send the money to the cousin who is short on fees this month. The Holy Spirit in you already knows what to do there, so you are not generating the answer, you are following the One living inside you.
God is not withholding good from the world. He handed the keys to people, and then He moved into people. That is the whole vibe shift.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You trusted people with this earth instead of controlling us. I am not a victim of what happens around me. I am Your child with Your Spirit living in me. Holy Spirit, show me the one choice today where my yes actually matters. I choose life there, by faith in what You have already given me. Amen
Amen
