The One Word That Cancels God's Promise

God says something in His Word and your mind immediately adds one word. But. But what about my situation, but what if it does not work this time.

That is not you being a bad Christian. It is your natural mind doing exactly what natural minds do. 1 Corinthians 2:14 says, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Your reasoning was never built to process God's promises. It is measuring with the wrong tool.

Faith runs on a different frequency. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Substance and evidence. Faith is not pretending, it is holding something real that has not shown up in the room yet.

Now look at who is doing the talking. Psalm 91:14-16 says, "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." Count how many times He says I will.

So you do not beat doubt by arguing with yourself. You feed on what He said until the promise gets louder than the objection. The Holy Spirit is the One who makes spiritual things clear to you, and He is glad to do it when you ask.

Your but is not stronger than His I will. Let Him have the last word today.
