Your Spirit Is Done Your Mind Is Not

People say God is still working on them and usually mean God is still fixing them. That depends entirely on which part you are talking about.

1 Corinthians 6:17 says, "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." Your spirit is not a work in progress. The moment you were born again it was joined to Him and made new. There is nothing in there God is still repairing.

Your mind is the part with catching up to do. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Renewing, not replacing. Your thinking gets updated to match what is already true inside you.

And the tool for that is not hardship. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." God did not schedule your heartbreak to teach you something. His Word does the work.

He also gave you people. Ephesians 4:11-13 says He "gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints." So this is not a solo project. In real terms that looks like fifteen minutes in the Word before you open Instagram, or one message you actually sit and listen to instead of half watching while you scroll. The Holy Spirit is the one renewing you through it, you are just showing up where He is already working.

You are not waiting for God to finish your spirit. He already did. Feed your mind what is already true and watch your life start agreeing with it.
