God Is Not The Reluctant Judge

You prayed about something real and nothing happened. Not a no, just silence. Somewhere in the waiting you started wondering whether He even wants to help.

Jesus told a story about a widow who kept going back to a judge who could not care less. He helped her eventually just to be rid of her. People read that and assume God needs wearing down. That is the opposite of the point.

Luke 18:7-8 says, "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily." Jesus was drawing a contrast, not a comparison. If even a corrupt judge eventually acts, how much more a Father who actually loves you.

You are not trying to change God's mind. Hebrews 7:25 says, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Jesus is already speaking on your side. Your prayer walks into a room where the case has been argued for you.

Philippians 4:6 says, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." With thanksgiving. That is not forced positivity, it is how you talk to Someone you know is willing. The Holy Spirit is the One who holds your confidence steady when the delay drags on.

So keep bringing it. Not to convince Him of anything. He was never the reluctant judge in that story, He is the Father in it.
