The Roots Die Before The Leaves Do

You prayed, you meant it, and nothing visible happened. Before you decide God ignored you, look at what happened to a fig tree.

Matthew 21:19 says, "And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away." Matthew gives you the outcome straight away.

Mark walks you through the timing. Mark 11:20 says, "And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots." Dried up from the roots. It died the second Jesus spoke, and the part anybody could see took until the next day.

Daniel lived the same gap. Daniel 10:12 says, "Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words." Heard on day one. Delivered on day twenty one. The delay was never God deciding whether to answer.

1 John 5:14 says, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us." Heareth, present tense. No footnote about how strong you felt when you prayed.

So if you are still waiting, that is not proof your faith failed or that God changed His mind. The Holy Spirit is the one holding you steady in the gap, and He is not asking you to force anything. What was settled in the spirit does not become less true because you cannot see it yet.
