God Waited Until Moses Ran Out Of Strength

There is a kind of confidence that comes from being good at something. It works until it does not, and then you find out how much of you was resting on it.

2 Corinthians 10:17 says, "But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." Not in the skill, not in the record, not in how well you happen to be doing this month. That is not God taking a shot at your ability. It is Him pointing at where the actual power sits.

Moses is the clearest picture of it. He grew up in Pharaoh's house with everything going for him, and when he went to rescue his people on his own terms he killed a man and could not even hide the body properly. Forty years later, out in the desert with nothing left, he was arguing with God about whether he could speak at all. Exodus 4:10 says, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."

Read that again. The version of Moses who thought he had nothing to offer is the version God sent. Not because God enjoys people feeling small, but because a man who has stopped trusting his own strength is finally free to lean on someone else's.

So when it feels like your best days are behind you, or that everyone else has it together and you are just getting through the week, that is not disqualification. When Moses leaned on himself he could not bury one body without getting caught. When he leaned on God the sea moved. Same man, different source. The Holy Spirit is already in you and He does not need you at peak performance to work.

Your weakness is not holding this up. You were never running on your own supply in the first place.
