Healing Was Settled Before You Asked

Most believers have no trouble believing God can heal. The question that sits quietly underneath is whether He wants to heal them, specifically. That one changes how you pray and how long you stay in faith before you quit.

Exodus 15:26 closes with God naming Himself: "for I am the Lord that healeth thee." That is not a mood He was in. It is what He calls Himself.

Matthew 8:2-3 says, "And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed." The man was unsure whether Jesus wanted to. Jesus answered that part first.

Hebrews 1:3 calls Jesus the One "who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person." So when you watch Jesus heal, you are not watching an exception. You are watching God's heart in public.

1 Peter 2:24 says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Were. Past tense, already bought. And if you are sick right now, hear this clearly: that is not evidence your faith is faulty. Sick people were the ones Jesus walked toward, not away from.

So keep your appointments and take what you have been prescribed, because God works through doctors too. And while you do, let the Holy Spirit in you minister life to your body. You are not asking God to start something. You are receiving what Jesus already paid for.
