Why Your Faith Feels Weak Right Now
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."
— Romans 10:17
You are probably not short on faith. You are short on knowing what God has already said about the thing in front of you. Faith is not a mood you work up on a good day. It grows in the same soil where knowing God grows.
2 Peter 1:3 says, "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue." Read that again. All things, already given. And the pipeline they come through is knowing Him.
That is why Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." You cannot trust a God you do not actually know. Nobody can.
A lot of what strangles faith is not sin, it is input. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Your mind runs on whatever you feed it. Feed it the world's report and you will feel the world's fear. Feed it His Word and faith shows up on its own.
This is not a homework assignment. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God," and the Holy Spirit is the One who makes it land. Paul prayed for exactly that in Ephesians 1:17: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him." Ask for that today, and let the Spirit who lives in you open the Word from the inside.
If you are born again, faith is already part of what He put in you. Galatians 5:22 lists it out: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith." It is not missing. It is waiting for you to find out what God said, and that knowledge was hidden for you, never from you.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You have already given me everything for life and godliness through Jesus. Faith is not missing in me, You dropped it in me by Your Spirit. Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and revelation in knowing Him as I open Your Word today. I receive that by faith. Amen
