You Were Built To Grow Not Survive
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
— Matthew 13:8
Ask most people what they want from God and you get some version of getting by. Enough money to cover the month. Enough energy to survive the week. That is not the pattern He set up at the start.
Genesis 1:11 says, "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." Every seed came loaded with more than itself. Then Genesis 1:28 says, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." Increase was the design, not a bonus feature.
Jesus used the same picture. Matthew 13:8 says, "But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold." A hundred times what went in. That is what His Word does when it actually takes root in somebody, and the multiplying is in the seed, not in how hard the soil works.
He proved it with His own life. John 12:32 says, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." One man, one cross, and it has been pulling people toward the Father in every generation since. Jesus did not go there to break even.
Acts 12:24 says, "But the word of God grew and multiplied." That was written in the middle of persecution, which tells you the growth was never coming from good conditions. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 says Paul thanked God "because that your faith groweth exceedingly." So here is the practical shift. Stop asking whether you will make it through this month and start asking what you are putting in the ground. Ten minutes in the Word before the doomscroll, or one promise you keep saying out loud until you believe it more than you believe your bank balance. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes it multiply, you are just planting.
You were not made to barely hold on. The seed God put in you was built to produce, and He is the one who gives the increase.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You built increase into me before I ever thought to ask for it. I am not scraping by, I am Your child carrying seed You designed to multiply. Holy Spirit, grow Your Word in me until my life starts agreeing with it. Show me one thing to plant today instead of one more thing to worry about. I receive that growth by faith in what Jesus already finished. Amen
Amen
