The Gospel Is Power Not Just News
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.
— Romans 1:16
You have prayed for your family to know God. Maybe for years. And it can start to feel like the prayer is bouncing off the ceiling.
Here is the thing, God wants them more than you do, and He already put the power in your hands. Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." Paul did not say the gospel describes God's power. He said it is God's power.
And the gospel is not a checklist for people to clean themselves up with. We were cut off from God by our own mess, and instead of leaving us there, He sent Jesus to take all of it. Now when God looks at anyone who believes, He sees them righteous.
Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Nobody earns their way in. Which means you do not have to out argue anyone or have the perfect answer ready. You just have to tell them what Jesus already did.
Matthew 9:38 says, "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." That is you, and it is smaller than you are making it. Tell your cousin what changed for you. Send the voice note to the friend who has been struggling. You are not responsible for the result, the Holy Spirit handles that part.
You are carrying the best news anyone has ever heard. Do not sit on it.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that the gospel itself carries Your power, so I do not have to be impressive. Jesus already finished the work I am telling people about. Holy Spirit, put one name on my heart today and give me the words. I will say it plainly and leave the rest with You. I trust You to do what only You can do in them. Amen
Amen
