The Jesus In Those Stories Has Not Changed
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
— Hebrews 13:8
People change on you. A friend becomes someone you barely recognise, a family member goes quiet, and you learn not to count on anything staying the way it was.
Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." That is not a nice line for a wall. It is a claim about what is still available.
Think about what He was doing in those stories. Healing people, sitting with the ones everybody else had written off, telling frightened people to stop being afraid. If He is the same, none of that got retired. It is not a closed chapter you read about.
So when you ask whether healing is still for today, the verse answers it before you finish the question. He was, He is, He will be. The provision has not expired. What changes is whether we reach for it.
Real talk, a gift you never open sits there doing nothing for you. Jesus has already put healing and peace in your hands, and receiving it is not a performance you have to get right. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes it land in you, and He is not waiting on you to be impressive first.
Everything around you keeps shifting. He has not moved once, and He is not going to start now.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that Jesus is exactly the same today as He was in those stories. I am not living in a leftover version of the gospel, I have the same Jesus they had. Holy Spirit, help me actually receive what He has already made available. Open my hands for it today. I take Him at His word. Amen
Amen
