Head Agreement Is Not The Same As Faith
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved
— Rom. 10:10
I know this in my head but it is not reaching my heart. Almost everyone who has followed Jesus for a while has said some version of that.
Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness." With the heart. Not with the part of you that can pass a quiz on it.
Mental agreement is a bulb with no current in it. Everything is in place and nothing lights up. That is not you failing at faith, it is just a description of where the promise currently sits in you.
I have been there myself, praying for healing and knowing every verse and watching nothing move. Then one line I had read a hundred times, by his stripes you were healed, landed somewhere different in me. Nothing new was added. Something I already had finally went in.
2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken." The same spirit of faith, already given to you. So you are not trying to work up belief by force. You keep putting the Word in front of yourself and let the Holy Spirit do the moving from head to heart, because that transfer was never your job.
Matthew 4:4 says man shall live "by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Not by one revelation years ago. By what He keeps saying, and He has not gone quiet.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that faith is something You grow in me and not something I have to manufacture. I am not short on faith, I am Your child and You are the one building it. Holy Spirit, take what I know in my head and make it real in my heart. Do that with one promise today. I trust You for it. Amen
Amen
