Stop Trying To Be A Good Christian

You have tried to be a better Christian and it keeps not working. You hold it together for a week and then you are right back where you started. The problem is not your effort level.

Galatians 2:20 says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Not I, but Christ. Paul is not describing a goal he is working toward. He is describing where he already lives.

That flips the whole script. The Christian life was never you doing Jesus things for Jesus. It is Jesus living His life through someone who stopped fighting Him for the wheel.

Look at how it started for Matthew. Matthew 9:9 says, "And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him." No qualification round, no clean up period first. Jesus called a tax collector mid shift and he went.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Look at where the power is coming from in that sentence. Through Christ. The Holy Spirit inside you supplies whatever the day asks for, so when the pressure to perform rises, that is the moment to lean back instead of push harder.

Nobody is asking you to summon strength you do not have. You are being invited to use the strength that already moved in. Let Him drive.
