God's Word Is A Seed, Not A Slogan

Most believers will tell you they believe God heals. Say it out loud and it sounds settled. But somewhere between believing it and living in it something is missing, and it is usually not sincerity.

Jesus said in Mark 4:26-27, "So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how." The man does not make the seed grow. He puts it in the ground, and the life already inside the seed does the rest.

God's Word works the same way. The life is not in your effort, it is in the seed. Your part is putting it somewhere it can grow.

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." Health to all their flesh. That is your body, not a metaphor.

Here is where it gets ordinary. You believe watermelons exist, and believing it has never grown one in your yard. In the same way, saying you believe God heals while never once putting a healing verse in front of your eyes is belief with nothing planted. So on the drive home, instead of scrolling, read Proverbs 4:22 twice. Before the scan results come back, say what God said instead of rehearsing what you are afraid of. You are not working up healing, you are letting the Holy Spirit grow what God already provided.

The seed does not need you to strain over it. It needs you to plant it and then stop digging it back up to check on it.
