You Are Not Going Through This Alone
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.
— John 14:16-17
Some weeks you are not looking for answers, you are just tired. God never expected you to push through that on your own.
Jesus promised it in John 14:16-17: "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." Not visiting. Living in you.
Comfort shows up in different ways. Sometimes He lifts the thing pressing on you. Sometimes He gives you a word about what is coming, or sends a person who says the exact sentence you needed that morning.
Paul knew this from the inside. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." Weakness was never Paul's disqualification. It was the place the supply showed up.
So following Jesus was never about dodging hard things. It is about having a source that hard things cannot reach. Your victory is not decided by how heavy the pressure outside is, it is decided by who is living inside you.
Say it out loud today if you need to. The Holy Spirit dwells with you and He is in you, and He is not going anywhere. That is not positive thinking, that is what Jesus actually promised.
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, thank You that Jesus sent You to live in me and You never leave. I am not alone and I am not running on my own strength. Comfort me today and make Your grace real in the exact place I feel weakest. I rest in You by faith. Amen
