God Already Said Yes To Every Promise

Someone told you they would be there and then they were not. It happens enough times that you start reading every promise with a little suspicion built in, including the ones in the Bible.

2 Corinthians 1:20 says, "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." Not most of them. All of them. And the Yes was spoken before you ever brought the request.

Here is the thing. God is not sitting there weighing whether you have been consistent enough this month to qualify. Jesus already answered on your behalf. When you pray a promise, you are not asking God to make up His mind. You are agreeing with something He settled at the cross.

So why trust that over what your bank balance says, or what the doctor said, or what your own head has been repeating since 2am? Jesus told Thomas in John 20:29, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Faith is not pretending the problem is not there. It is deciding that God's word about it carries more weight than the report.

Practically this means going and finding the actual verse. The exam result you are dreading, the family situation nobody talks about, the job that still has not come through. Open the Bible, find what God has said about it, and read it out loud to yourself until it sounds more real than the worry does. The Holy Spirit lives in you and He is the one who makes that word land in your heart. You are not talking yourself into anything, you are receiving something already given.

God's Yes is not waiting on your performance. It was signed in Jesus and it has your name on it.
